He rose to fame in 2011 by entering a contest for the official tribute band "Queen Extravaganza". His performance of "Somebody to Love" went viral impressing the members of Queen. In addition to working with Queen Extravaganza Martel has released solo albums and contributed additional vocals to the biographical film "Bohemian Rhapsody" (2018).
